Intro: Saiyuki series

Four guys, who are reincarnation of their god self in the past, travel to the west to defeat the source of the sudden revival of a demonic wave. This is based on the chinese legend of four going to the west. But don't be conned by this intro, it gets better!

Genjo Sanzo is the monk [who guides them to the west] who smokes, swears, kills, drinks and doesn't shave his head bald [in fact, he's blonde]. Quite often he will smack his companions [who he refers to as servants], Goku and Gojyo [once in a while Lilin too] for fighting over small matters.

In heaven: Saiyuki Gaiden

Though there are short appearences of Konzen in Gensomaden Saiyuki, Konzen (incarnation of Sanzo) and Goku mostly appear together in Saiyuki Gaiden, where the story takes place when the four (including Kenren Taishou and Tenpou Gensui, Sha Gojyo and Cho Hakkai's former incarnation respectively) were in heaven, 500 years before the first Saiyuki series.

Just like in the Saiyuki series, Konzen and Goku are close, though always fighting and shouting to each other. Goku looks up to Konzen and their first meeting was very funny. Goku was amazed at how golden Konzen's long hair was that he held it thinking it was the sun. Some hair unfortunately fell off, and Konzen just yelled at him~!

Soon after, the Gods liked seeing the chemistry between them that Konzen had to "babysit" Goku, in which he found really annoying as Goku was really noisy. Konzen was the kind who preferred peace and quiet..

Goku: Seiten Taisei

Son Goku is the cheerful "Monkey King". He is also Seiten Taisei, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, and whose true self and powers are released when his diadem is removed. Seiten Taisei is very destructive and cruel, and nearly invincible, being able to take in the Earth's energy and regenerate.

When his diadem was removed, Goku killed many celestial beings in his craze. Konzen, Tenpou, and Kenren work to protect Goku, but all four are banished from Heaven. Despite the five centuries of separation, Goku and Konzen were reunited again, although Goku couldn't remember his past together with Konzen.. They then led a new life, and travelled to the west to combat evil demons!

Monkey and His Sun
